Indigo

Indigo is an exciting new Jazz duo that features vocalist Shameem Taheri-Lee and guitarist Kerry Mitchell. Their music covers a variety of Jazz styles that includes Swing, Bossa Nova, Soulful Ballads, Bebop, Samba, Waltz, Blues and Groove, all elegantly performed with a finesse that crafts a smooth and relaxing mood. Such variety provides your guests with an entertaining performance that will enhance your event.  Indigo was conceived at the beginning of 2007 as Kerry Mitchell and ShameemTaheri-Lee struck up a dynamic relationship and shared their creative talents and passions to perform Jazz for a variety of people that include university staff and students along with the music-loving public as a part of their first year of study at the Western Australia Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA). In a short space of time, Kerry and Shameem have performed together in venues as small as WAAPA’s ‘Jazz Studio’ to venues as large as the ‘Geoff Gibbs theatre’. Indigo is the perfect blend of creative talent, passion for music and exuberant performance that will enhance all occasions. Shameem’s sweet voice provides a gentle-warmth that will invigorate your guests whilst Kerry’s melodic guitar-playing provides the perfect accompaniment to complement Shameem and create a chilled-out mood. Their combined efforts will entertain your guests and make your event a memorable occasion.
