Hamish McSporran - Managing Director

Hamish has enjoyed outstanding success in many areas of the Entertainment and Arts business for over 30 years. He began his career working in the Motion Picture and Television industry as First Assistant Director and Floor Manager before graduating to Director where he was responsible for directing many well known television shows and commercials.

Hamish's is creative, inventive and innovative and he is always thinking way outside the box (what box?). His passion and energy are unmatched and he is a man that thinks that sleep is boring! Hamish is a talented communicator, a creative leader and has variously been described as a 'deep thinker, straight talker and a fountain of ideas'.

Since establishing Spirit Productions Hamish has developed an impressive event portfolio which crosses the cultural, sporting and economic divides..worldwide. He also provides pro bono service to a number of community charity groups each year and happily shares his vision and knowledge to those who are in need.

Hamish's strength is understanding his client's unique needs. His impressive list of clients come back time and time again because of his integrity, vision and the high level of personal service that he provides.

Chris Bennett - General Manager

Chris began his career in the arts and entertainment industry as a percussionist in the Royal Australian Air Force Central Band (Melbourne), where he had the opportunity to perform at a broad range of high profile events across Australia and overseas, including a number of AFL Grand Finals, the Melbourne Grand Prix, Earl's Court Tattoo (London), World Expo 88 and Commonwealth Games. Graduating with a degree in Arts Management from the prestigious WA Academy of Performing Arts, Chris managed the unique Effie Crump Theatre before being lured to the City of Perth's Marketing Department where he led the event team. Chris was responsible for delivering the City of Perth's annual program of events which consisted of over 15 major events each year including School Holiday programs, New Years Eve (Northbridge), Fashion in the City, Northbridge Festival, Turning on the Christmas Lights and Christmas Nativity; plus significant state events such as the West Coast Eagles Grand Final Celebrations and the Olympic and Paralympic Homecoming. Chris was also the overall event co-ordinator of the City's flagship event, and WA's largest community event, the Australia Day Skyworks. Prior to joining Spirit, Chris was the General Manager of Country Arts WA, the peak body for regional arts and culture in WA.

Marina Del Basso - Artistic Director

Marina Del Basso

Marina has one of the most impressive entertainment pedigrees in Western Australia. An experienced performer in Dance and the Visual Arts herself, Marina has also trained in the United States and has created many opening and closing ceremonies for world sporting events. She was awarded the Australian Producer of the Year Award by News Corp Ltd, while producing the Super League Entertainment in 1998. Marina is also an accomplished variety show producer, choreographing and designing corporate and cabaret shows, gala awards, dinners and variety musicals.

Baillie Liddle - Production Designer

Baillie is the most recent addition to the Spirit Production team. After graduating with a degree in Design from Edith Cowan University, she continued her studies to gain a further Graduate Diploma in Creative Industries, with a Major in Retail Design. Baillie was also selected to be included on the Honour Roll at ECU. Baillie's interest in event design led her to Spirit Productions where she is engaged as head production designer as well as interior decoration and theming designer for indoor events.

Casey Magatelli - Entertainment Manager

Casey is a graduate in Events Management and has joined the Spirit Team to manage the organisation's entertainment bookings. Casey also assists with general event co-ordination for Spirit's major events.
